Good health is the most valuable thing that any of us own; without good health all of the money, real estate and gold in the world has no meaning.  It is therefore of paramount importance that each of us does everything possible in order to stay healthy and live a long life.  When it comes to tips for living a healthy life there are a number of things that we can do on a daily basis in order to maintain a healthy weight, prevent cancer and prevent diabetes.  Following these daily health tips will also help prevent other medical conditions and will help to improve your quality of life and increase your lifespan.

Maintain A Healthy Weight

When it comes to maintaining a health weight the prescription is pretty straight forward, maintain a healthy diet, and eat more foods that are fresh such as fruits and vegetables and fewer foods that are processed.  A processed food is typically one that comes in a box.  The next step to maintaining a healthy weight is to get daily exercise, go to the gym, play a sport, go for walk in the park… your body doesn’t really care what the exercise is as long as you do it!  If you have a sedentary job one thing that you can do is to go for a 2 minute walk around the office every 20 minutes, this will help keep your muscles active.  By following these daily health tips you will be able to maintain a healthy weight.

Prevent Cancer

Prevent Cancer

Cancer is one of the biggest risks to anyone’s health.  Although today a cancer diagnosis is not a death sentence as it once was, cancer is one thing that you want to avoid.  Most cancers are caused by a combination of genetics and environmental causes; although there is nothing that we can do about our genes, there is much that we can do about the environmental causes.  Avoid bad habits such as smoking, using drugs or excessive alcohol consumption, all of these have been proven to be cancer risks.  Eat a healthy diet, high in antioxidant rich foods and Omega-3 fats (such as blueberries and salmon) Such foods have been proven to reduce the risk of many cancers.  Increase your fiber consumption, a diet that is high in fiber can help keep your colon healthy and has the added bonus of helping you maintain a healthy weight.  By following the daily health tips listed here you will be well on your way to reduce your risk of cancer and live a healthier life.

Prevent Diabetes

Type 2 Diabetes is a medical condition that afflicts more and more people today and is a condition that in many cases can be avoided through more attention to ones diet.  Diabetes is a medical condition where your body does not produce enough insulin, this causes your blood sugar to spike and can cause many long term health problems such as blindness and limb amputation.  When it comes to preventing diabetes the most important thing is to have a diet where you do not consume too much sugar, a simple place to start is by reducing your soda intake; another thing you should do is to reduce the amount of processed food you consume, most processed food contains added sugar in order to give the food added flavor.  When you prepare a meal from scratch it will taste better and will contain less sugar, salt and other preservatives, many of which also cause cancer.

When it comes to your wealth the most important thing that you should do is to do everything possible to keep your body healthy for as long as possible.  A long and healthy life will allow you to reap the benefits of compound interest and will give you more time to enjoy the leisure that your hard work has enabled.  When it comes to tips for living a healthy life you need to start with the basics, a healthy diet, more fruits and vegetables, quality meats, whole grains…  Daily exercise, any physical activity will yield health benefits.
